With an Airport Advance you can catch the next available TransPennine Express train up to 3 hours after the departure time stated on the ticket, however, you'll need to have your ticket endorsed by one of our colleagues at Manchester Airport station ticket office before you board the train.
If you flight has been cancelled or you wont be able to make the train within 3 hours, the fastest way to amend your journey is by visiting your online account https://myaccount.tpexpress.co.uk/ , selecting your booking, select your booking, view details and amend your journey. If your journey is more than five days away, we'll send your new tickets to you - postal fees apply. If you purchased your ticket at the station or your original date of travel is in less than 5 days, you can take your ticket(s) to any station with a staffed ticket office up to 18:00 on the day before you travel to change them.
You will need to present the ticket(s) and reservation(s) when you request a change. To amend your tickets you may be subject to a £10 admin fee, per ticket. If you arrive at your final destination, delayed for 15 minutes or more, you are entitled to Delay Repay Compensation and can claim through our online portal https://delayrepay.tpexpress.co.uk. These levels are set by the Department for Transport:
Delayed for 15 to 29 minutes – Claim 25% compensation of your single ticket or 12.5% of your return ticket cost
Delayed for 30 to 59 minutes - Claim 50% compensation of your single ticket or 50% of the relevant delayed portion of your return ticket
Delayed for 60 to 119 minutes - Claim 100% compensation of your single ticket or 100% of the cost of the relevant portion of your return ticket
Delayed for 120+ minutes - Claim 100% compensation of the cost of your single ticket or 100% cost of your return ticket (i.e. both portions, not just one way)
Claims must be made within 28 days of journey date and make sure you keep hold of your train tickets - we need these to work out how much compensation to give you.

When booking your ticket on our website or app, the system provides you with the seats based on your preferences. if you didnt have any preference, it will book seats for the group as close to each other as possible. If you ask for a table seat and it doesn't provide it, that means the seats were already reserved or the system has booked your seats to allow for social distancing onboard

When booking your ticket on our website or app, the system provides you with the seats based on your preferences. if you didnt have any preference, it will book whichever seats are available on the train. At the moment aisle seats are not available to reserve due to the pandemic and to allow social distancing to take place onboard. The best way to book a seat reservation is by contacting our WhatsApp team on 07812 223 336
